for the party was a simple tablecloth (with a dolphin print) hanging from a beam decorated with my girl's craft. I used bulldog clips to clip the tablecloth to the beam and the craft items were secured with safety pins.
2. The food
was made up of fairy bread and cheese melts and created into fish shapes with capsicum tails and grapes for bubbles. Each child also had a bottle of water with a party label that had their name on it so that they could sip on it through out the party.
The food was prepared an hour before the party and left out for the children to nibble during the party.
3. The Activities
At first, all the children just mingled and played on a climbing frame. With fourteen children altogether, two groups were formed for the activities to make it more manageable around the tables. One group started their Sand Art activity and the other group created some lovely designs from play dough. Once the children at the Sand Art table finished their creations, the groups swapped over.
4. Snack
A watermelon whale with fruit was very popular with the kids and provided a refreshing snack.
5. Free Play
All sea creatures need water, so it was time to take a splash. All the children at the party were comfortable in the water and had a great time jumping, splashing and swimming around. There were designated helpers to act as 'life guards' around the pool. A number of adults (including myself) were also in the water having fun with the kids.
6. Cake Cutting
A butter cake in the shape of a Sea Star and decorated with icing, sugar crystals, rainbow choc chips, smarties and chocolates was devoured in seconds. The cake was actually prepared the day before and left in the fridge overnight.
7. Thank you
All guests went home with their Sand Art creation, a personalised Thank-You card and a chocolate bar covered in a party printable.
The sun was shining and we all had a great party!
